This is going to be a wall of text, so bear with me, because I am really, really pissed off right now.
Recently, I learned two very disgusting facts. The first is how many people believe a man can't be sexually harassed, especially by a woman, even more so an attractive woman. The second is that if a man or boy is raped by a woman and she gets pregnant, her VICTIM is then forced to pay support for that child, at the risk of being thrown in prison and every other consequence that comes from not making those payments. It wasn't even until this freaking decade that it was decided to change the laws regarding rape to include male victims as well as female. I also learned my mother is in favor of the repulsive stereotype that men want sex all the time and that it is impossible for a woman to rape a man. I am not sorry to say this, mother, but you and everyone else who believes that are FUCKING IGNORANT!!! It is just as possible for women to use coercion, blackmail, threats and violence to force men into sex as it is for men to force women with the same methods. How the hell can that be so difficult to understand???
Let's say a news story breaks that a female teacher slept with one of her male students. The first reaction many people have is to say he was lucky, especially if she happened to be attractive. Now, picture that same scenario with a male teacher and female student. What would you think then? Exactly, that he's a pervert and needs to be in jail. What the serious flying fuck is with this double standard? It is completely screwed up and needs to change! And in case it still isn't clear enough, let me spell it out this way. Your son, grandson or nephew comes to you and says one of his teachers touched him inappropriately and/or offered a better grade on a test or paper if he performed a sexual act with them. I'm guessing it wouldn't matter if it were a man or woman who did it, you'd be calling for them to be fired and thrown in prison.
And what about if your husband or boyfriend starts complaining about being sexually harassed at work by one of his female coworkers? My guess is your first thought would be what he did to bring it on himself, since as everyone knows men think about sex and how they can get it every seven seconds. And then you decide to drop by his workplace one day and see him with the same woman he's been talking about. Again, your first thought would most likely be that he's cheating on you and claiming sexual harassment to cover it up. Get the full story before just assuming, otherwise you might find yourself watching him walk out on you because he thinks you see him as a liar and rabid horndog. And he would be right.
And while I'm on the subject of rape and sexual harassment, I will say (again) that rape jokes ARE NOT FUCKING FUNNY and the pathetic, immature assholes who make them are much of the reason why rape is being taken less seriously. It is a serious crime that has claimed millions of lives and continues to do so. I am also going to bring up the disgusting practice universities love to take part in. If one of their male athletes rapes another student, they will do whatever it takes to make sure it gets swept under the rug, including blaming the victim because of what she was wearing and how she was acting at the time of the incident. There have been cases where the girl was asked pointblank to rescind her accusations, which is one of the most desperate, ass-backwards practices I can think of. It is so, so pathetic how so many schools are more concerned with their sports programs than the welfare of their students. You'd think they'd be more worried about the fact they're letting rapists go free getting out, which would mean less people will be inclined to go anywhere near their school in the first place.
I'm also going to be posting this to Facebook and Deviantart, because I want as many people as I can to see this.

Not pissed, more depressed, but well, here I go, long rant:
Damn, I still feel like shit. Got blocked by someone on Twitter a few days ago.
Stuff like that really bothers me, because it means I have offended someone and really don't like doing that.
But then I guess, when 2 out of 5 people scream "Oh my god, get that creep away from me!" There must be some truth in it...
And I really don't know what I did this time? I know Americans can be more prudish than Germans, but, are breast physics in a conversations about boob-plate-armor of limits? Or must everybody saying: "I hate wearing bras and will only do it if absolutely necessary " be a 30 something loser guy living in his parents basements?
I mean the 30 something loser is correct, but I am a cisgender woman with DD cups who will only wear a bra for sports... those fucking things hurt like shit.
I mean, I know I lack communication skills, I know people see me as weird, strange, laughable, fuckable but not loveable... but this constant oh, creep, better block! Is depressing.
I unfollowed everyone I thought about asking for their rates to beta-read some of my stuff, if I can't communicate with people, I can't write them, so why bother.
This: "The reason why you will die alone is because you are a creep and freak people out!" is hard and depressing...

I am furious at the 52% of my country who chose to vote to leave the EU. Especially since the most Googled phrase immediately following was "What is the EU?" In other words, people voted to leave a trade organisation without any understanding of what it actually is. And all because of 'Immigration', which is essentially a codeword for racism for people who don't want to admit they're racist.

Uh, yes. I'm living in Germany and I just had this "WTF?" reaction when I found out. Then I saw the reactions and realized that I'm actually cynical enough to laugh at that stuff (I'm Austrian, I'm left, politically, and I grew up under a conservative/right merry-go-round of incompetence that called itself a government - that teaches you to laugh at stuff). I mean, really... Boris Johnson hiding in his house, people googling what the EU is, and, my personal favourite, the leaders of the "Exit"-campaign... "Well... that thing about the NHS, you remember? We didn't really say that! Or, well, I guess we said that, but we didn't MEAN it! So please don't be too disappointed if your health care stays the same after we leave, yes?" (warning, rant ahead) What disturbs me most about it, though, is that Great Britain isn't only leaving a trade organization, but also the largest peace project Europe has ever seen. The ECSC wasn't just there to help the economy in the beginning, it was also there to control the coal and steel production of the founding members so they couldn't build an army against each other. If other states secede, where will that lead? I know that there are a lot of connections in the European economy, that people are very used to thinking about Europe as a union now, that open borders and free trade are seen as the norm and not as the exception in Europe... but historically, the current period of peace in Europe is relatively short-lived after milennia of war. Peace is not as natural as we here in Europe think it is, and before World War I, a lot of politicians and thinkers also thougth that a "World War" was completely impossible because of the amount of world market integration they'd reached (before WWI, world trade values and market integration were at a level that was only reached again in the 1970's after the sharp decline during WWI), saying that a war would completely destroy the economy. And, well, it did destroy the economy, but somehow, that didn't keep that war from happening. And that really makes me worry. Really. DraconRa: That might sound totally crazy and totally random right now, but I think you're very likeable, and I'd even meet for coffee with you if you'd like to

Yeah, the Brexit scares me too. And I don't like the foreshadowing to other events this year... I mean: Germany: "Hitler? Na, that guy is nuts, that'll never happen!" Russia: "Putin? No way, that'll never happen!" UK: "Brexit? Come on, no one could be this stupid!" USA: "Trump? No, that dement idiot will never win!" ... Vote, vote like it could be your last time being able to vote... glasschmetterling I think that sounds like a good idea! I mean, I am the one who found almost all of her RL friends on internet forums ;-) I live between Cologne and Bonn, this week I am at my parents place in the Ruhrgebiet. So if you're near by, we can definitly meet in person!

Don't forget Austria... Austria: "Nah, that right-wing guy will never be president, all the other parties are against him." Bam. 49,8%. They're challenging the election's validity. Of course. And I live in Koblenz, so Cologne and Bonn are pretty do-able! I'm really tied up here until the end of the semester (got my linear algebra test on July 20th, and my brain will need a few days to recover from that), but after that, we could meet in either Bonn or Cologne, depending on what's better for you. I can get to both with my university train ticket I'm really looking forward to meeting you!

That sounds awesome, I haven't been to a Maredo for a loooong time, and I've never really been to Bonn, too. Are there any sights worth it close to the train station?

I live there for 6 years now, but I don't go out much, I'd have to ask a friend or google.... My old hometown Essen would be easier for sight seeing, at least I know a few places in theory ;-)

We'll figure something out (and no, I didn't walk out on you or forget you or something, I just had a minor dental procedure last week and my face still shines in the brightest colours imaginable AND my dentist somehow managed to give me a green-yellow-ish tinge around the eye). I think we'll just take this to PN or something and I'll write to you to fix a date when I know a bit more about my timetable in the next few weeks, okay? Also... all that state/police violence against black people in the United States. That's obviously a huge reason to be perfectly justifiably angry and sad, but, like, could someone explain that to me with a bit of background, please? Because I'm white and European and we have tons of racism here and tons of racism against black people and people of color, but I just really can't wrap my head around the things that are happening and why, or that culture of fear in which people have to be afraid just because they're living their lives (and I definitely don't want to say with that that it's not real or that black people imagine it or some other bullshit, just that it's quite hard to understand the situation when reading stuff that's aimed at people who already know more about life in the US than I do). For a bit of background to know where I'm coming from: There's this Wikipedia article en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_killings_by_law_enforcement_officers_in_German with a statistic of people killed by police and shots fired at people by police, and I think it's pretty accurate. Germany has about 80 million inhabitants, meaning that if Germany were as big as the United States, between 30 and 40 people would be killed by police every year. It's not that everything is great here, because there is racism, there's racism against black people and people of color (as well as racism against immigrants from Eastern Europe, who, in the US, would be considered white, I suppose), black people definitely get stopped by police more often (and get killed by police, like Christy Schwundeck), but that immediate threat of death seems to be more or less absent.

People who insist the world is flat and that we never landed on the moon. How the hell can they be so deluded???

Because they slept through all their Math courses? People knew 2500 years ago that the world was most decidedly NOT flat!

I'm pretty pissed off right now. Who's been watching the Olympics? The gymnast who broke his leg horribly was pretty unfortunate, but that was a mixture of bad luck and error of judgement. It's the avoidable injuries I'm pissed off about.
Cycling is a dangerous sport and those who embark on it for career know what they've signed up for. But this Rio road course was unacceptably dangerous. I make it four people with serious injuries now: one double collarbone fracture, one broken shoulder, one broken pelvis and one triple lumbar fracture with concussion. And that last one got off lightly: I honestly thought Annemiek van Vleuten had broken her neck and didn't think she'd survived when they didn't show a replay of the crash (if you Google "Annemiek van Vleuten crash" and watch the footage you will see what I mean). Especially when they switched to the camera on her a few minutes later and quickly cut back when we saw she was completely motionless in the exact same position.
If you're going to make cyclists negotiate such a ridiculously steep descent with such tight hairpins at racing speed (all good so far, that's part of the fun) then you need to do something to mitigate the risks posed by the massively high kerbs and deep roadside ditches. Just a couple of softer barriers on those corners would have helped. C'mon people, nobody needs to die for our entertainment. We're just lucky nobody did.

This may come out as a bit of a rant, so I apologise. But I think I've found another problem with modern teen romances which is affecting teenage behaviour. Basically, it's how the female leads treat their 'Other choice' character. You know what I'm talking about, where she's obviously going to be getting with one guy but has another male friend she's 'Sort of' into but you know she isn't going to choose because the book you're reading is a cliche. Like Ana with Jose and Bella with whatever the Werewolf's name was. Same in Appolonia (Although I can't remember any of the names. The undercover dude). When the female lead is with the main interest she fawns all over him and that's what we expect. The problem is that when he's not around, she fawns all over the backup choice. Which is bad enough. But since these books are written fro inside her head, we know that she knows the other guy is into her. So she's basically toying with his emotions for her own gain. More problems arise when she realises who she truly wants. What's the typical reaction of a teenager when she crushes on someone? Telling her best friend. But when her best friend is also her backup choice, things get iffy. Because this means that she's basically telling a guy that she knows is into her all about some other guy she's crushing on. Which, I can tell you from experience, is the most hurtful thing a girl can do to a guy. It gets worse. These books give the girl no comeuppance for these actions. I'm not saying girls deserve to be stabbed for things like this, I'm not a psycho. But in these stories, the guys always come to terms with things and move on and forgive the girl, often apologising for being 'Selfish' by not wanting to hear about her crush. In reality, the girl is effectively telling the guy that his thoughts and feelings don't matter to her. There should be some comeuppance to show that this kind of behaviour is despicable. The other guy should leave and it should hurt her. I've always believed that actions have consequences. And I believe that other people being hurt is a massive one. This kind of story teaches girls that the feelings of others don't matter. Which I don't think is a particularly great moral.
