In light of recent events, I am retreating to some comfort reading in the form of an Amanda Quick novel called The Third Circle. Adventure! Intrigue! Smooches! True love! Just the tonic to soothe my shattered nerves.

I wonder, do Lp's count in this topic? I swear some of those take me as long to get through as a book. I recently began re-reading Didja Redo's Let's Play of Avalon Code, in fact. I like his the best because he always plays with the games narrative, often making it better. This one in particular is pretty good! I realize it's painfully dorky to read about people playing video games but we all have our stuff. Our nerdy, nerdy stuff.

I'm reading Tamora Pierce's books in her Tortall Universe. Currently Mastiff (which is the last book in the Beka Cooper trilogy). Then going to read the Immortals series

I just finished reading The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell. It's the inside story of The Room, a legendary bad film that I have watched more times than I care to admit. It's hilarious and sometimes oddly poignant.

It's hilarious and sometimes oddly poignant. I just saw that movie for the first time last night. I still have no idea what the fuck I watched. Also it was Rifftrax Live! Presents The Room. Is the book any good? I am reading....Everything on here that isn't crossed out in red And am almost done with Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances The only thing I'm not reading is the dvd version of Arsenic and Old Lace. That I'll be watching sometime later this week

I am old so I totally thought you meant an audio book on an LP record. ha ha ha

The book is good though you'll probably get more out of it if you've seen The Room at least once and maybe a few more times. I actually dug out my DVD copy (yes, I own this monstrosity on DVD--signed by Tommy Wiseau, no less) and watched it after finishing the book to check out all the little things I now knew about the process.

I just finished reading, well, listening, to 13 Reasons Why. I'll admit, not the best choice for a holiday, but I got the audiobook last night and I really wanted to listen to it. So now, I'm all bummed out like I usually get after I've read that book. As if I wasn't already bummed out enough because it's been raining all week, which means no fireworks.

I'm reading Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return (which is a graphic novel that is also apparently a movie).
Also, The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley
And since I just got it from the library, Red Rising by Pierce Brown (because I just finished Red Queen and the premise to it sounds strangely like Red Rising so until I read that I'm not posting my Red Queen review).
And The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini (since that doesn't have any checkouts left on it and is due soon)

I have just finished Vous Revoir by Marc Levy (I hope it doesn't sound too pretentious that I read in French!). It's the sequel to Et si c'était vrai which was translated into English as If only it were true, and made into a Hollywood film called Just Like Heaven, which maybe some of you know? It's kind of a semi paranormal romance but the thing is, they changed the ending a bit in the film so they can't really film Vous Revoir even if they wanted to, because it doesn't fit with the film ending, and I also found out that Vous Revoir was never even translated into English! So that is quite weird.

rhiannon I don't think it makes you sound pretentious. I'd love to read books in french but I'm still learning so it'll be a while. I'm finishing up Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Then I have Pawn by Aimee Carter The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai The Girl with the Windup Heart/The Girl with the Iron Touch by Kady Cross And Red Rising still to finish (in my defense the ones above red rising have to be read asap due to being due in 5 days with no check outs left so they come up on importance)

Re-reading the first two books in the "Captive Prince"-Trilogy, part three comes out in January, finally.
I highly recommend them. It's gay romance, and I really love how it develops, slowly, naturally. And, opposing to the blurb of the German version, starting in book 2.

Reading the Covenant series by Jennifer Armentrout and trying not to bash my head in while reading it. And still have Red Rising. A book and a half to go til I get back to that. *cries*
