Damn it all, that's just what we need. How much you guys wanna bet this one will make it to the big screen, too? And it comes out the day after my birthday. Talk about missing it by an inch. "Christian is a complex character." Please, any character she comes up with is about as complex as a blank piece of paper.

So, what do we reckon? Is she going to try and clean him up and make him palatable? Is it going to try and eliminate and/or explain away as acceptable all the characteristics and traits that so many of us found obnoxious and downright dangerous? Or is she going to ignore us and plod on regardless in the same vein as the Christian POV chapter in the trilogy?
At least we won't have to wait long to find out. I just have to figure out how to read it without paying for it. No way am I giving another penny to her.

Bless Jenny for taking one for the team and recapping these for us. I think it will be like the originals, where EL tries to make it sound romantic, but it just comes off as creepy and awful. She'd probably make his "crack whore mother" his version of Ana's inner goddess or subconscious, and he only abuses (erm, excuse me...kinkily loves) women because the "crack whore" tells him to.

I have a feeling that it's going to be a whole lot of him telling himself that he's doing it all because he loves her so much and needs to protect her. I predict it will be nauseating. I will be forever grateful to Jenny for taking one for the team and recapping it.

Something tells me it's going to be even harder to stomach because we'll be in Creepazoid's head instead of Ana's. Makes me shudder just thinking about it...

Wait. Wait. Let's let Erika put her big fat foot in her mouth with this. Remember that Grey is a bazillionaire that grew his company from nothing and learned how to fly helicopters. Grey, being a CONTROL FREAK (Erika Leonard is, so, therefore, so is Grey) he had to invent his company from the ground up to the point of being fabulously wealthy. HOW DID HE DO THAT? Being a control freak, he probably micromanaged every detail of every transaction to ensure maximum results and maximum monetary return on each deal. Repeat for every subsequent transaction. Then he meets Ana, drops all interest in the company and delegates control of the company to others just so he can spend all his time focused on her?!?!? Really? No way, especially abruptly, like it was a switch he could just turn on and off inside his head. Oh, and somewhere along the line he has to learn how to fly a helicopter. Uh huh. Right. SHOW ME how he does that, as the skills needed to acquire the wealth to buy such a machine is the exact opposite of what's needed to fly it properly (e.g., the risk taking one does on these mega-deals is huge, but those same types of risks when flying a helicopter can get you killed from your own stupidity.)
So let's see how his mind works with dealing with company problems, helicopter flying, and Ana. It might be the comedy train wreck of the century.

I hope you're right, but I still have a nasty feeling she plans to use this as a way to explain away the parts that screamed abuse as just being this abusive prick poor, damaged little flower reacting to learning to love for the first time in his life and being scared of losing his victim twu wuv, and excusing his objectionable behaviour just his way of being protective and caring. Even if that is her objective, there's still a good chance it will come across as creepy and awful.

I noticed something unusual whilst taking pre-orders for this drivel. The RRP of it is only £7.99 (Which is halved to £3.99 if you pre-order by paying £2 (Which is then deducted, meaning you pay £1.99 when you get it)) which is standard price for paperbacks. But normally books, especially ones this popular, come out as hardbacks first. Are they just skipping the hardback phase entirely?

I didn't even realize it until I went to get the last book of a series I like. It had just been released and they told me it wouldn't be out in paperback for another six months. What's the point of that?
