Well to make it a little better, Girl Scouts allow lesbian troop leaders AND have started letting trans girls join. The statute of limitations for rape/molestation make me angry. Especially in light of what's happening in regards to the TLC show (that I don't watch and only know peripherally about) and the dude who molested his sisters. *TRIGGER WARNING** highlight it read Ugh, Josh Duggar; molested 5 girls, four of them being his sisters over a period of 5 years. Jim Bob and Michelle sent him to "Jesus Camp" after they found out, but from what I've read, make no mention of care or counseling for the girls. I guess he told his wife and she was "understanding" and God forgave him, so it's all good now I guess (yes, that last part was sarcasm). Now why doesn't that surprise me? The girls are the victims, but because they're girls, they're automatically not as important than he is. That's how most religions think.

I just read an article about how the Boy Scouts of America are looking to lift the ban on gay troop leaders. What's pissing me off about it is all the comments saying it's "just common sense" for the ban to stay in place and that gay people are an abomination. The worst of it is how most of the comments also said that because someone is gay it automatically means they're a child molester. What the hell is wrong with people? And I also just finished a rant about said subject in the comment section of the article, which I would like to share here: "I just commented but I have to say you all are a bunch of monsters! Just because a man is attracted to men does not mean he'll do anything to your sons! If anything, they'd teach the tolerance and kindness you all find so abhorrent. But then you all believe in a book that says it is okay to stone people to death and that anyone who doesn't believe your fairy tales will burn alive in a fiery pit, so why should I expect actual common sense from any of you? It's time for you narrow-minded, pathetic little serpents to wake up and come out of the dark ages. The world is changing to make life better for people who've done nothing but suffer prosecution just because they have the audacity to not hide who they really are! You're allowed to live your lives in almost any way you please, so why not let other groups have the same opportunity? Just because shunning differences was okay before does not make it okay now! Hasn't that behavior gone on for far too long already?" I know it's aggressive, but you have no idea how furious this kind of behavior makes me!

Alliteration high-five!
Sorry, I just really wanted to use that line. XD Anyway, this thread is for anything that has to do with pets. Furry, feathery, scaly, whatever. Let's see what kind of craziness comes to the critter thread.

Vampires have been pretty for a very long time. All the better to seduce ones prey. The sparkling thing is pretty much unique to Twilight. I don't think you could do sparkly vampires even if you wanted to without getting sued. EL pretty much copied Twilight and she hasn't gotten sued. :/

Yes, personally I like scary vampires, I much prefer something like Let the Right One In, especially the book! That is scary and nasty, not like the Twilight vampires. What also annoys me is when people say stuff is 'Sci Fi' when it patently isn't! I did like the BBC series Being Human, and I would call it a paranormal or supernatural series, but I was reading a post about it on Facebook and someone said 'you have to be into sci fi to like it'! In what way do you need to be into 'sci fi'? I totally missed when they visited Mars? The Life of Brian has more sci fi than Being Human... Would that Dr. Who show everyone likes count as sci fi, or would it fall into the "just plain weird" category? That's the only thing I could get when I was stuck watching a few episodes. And I'll be the first to admit the supernatural creatures in my series aren't the creepy, ugly ones from old times, but I like to think I didn't make them complete pansies. They don't freaking sparkle and have actual fangs, at least when they're showing their true nature.

This one hasn't happened recently, mainly because I haven't had need to mention it, but it always annoyed me when I tell people I like vampires and werewolves and stuff and they say, "You must be a big Twilight fan."
I hate Twilight. That series did to the supernatural what a cheating lead does to a romance. Completely ruins it and makes it just about pointless.

This is kind of embarrassing to admit, but I've been watching MLP: FIM all week. I've also come up with an OC. Help me. -_-

How about when there's a hair on your tongue and you can't get it off?

I realized just how much I use this phrase, so I decided to make a meme out of it. Virtual high-five if you get it. ^.^

Well, it doesn't matter because it's not a real person. If it was a real person being named that, it's a bit like calling a girl 'Adolf', to be honest. I think people should think about at least googling the name they want to give their child. My friend and my sister both did that. Eg if your surname is Hindley you might not want to go with Myra for your daughter. Then sometimes there is bad luck too - like my friend who called her son Dexter and then just after he was born, that series started. So everyone thought she'd named him after that character. As you do. But if he was born before the show started, how'd people get the idea he was named after the character?

Well, at least he does know how to write screenplays. For TV. Ones for movies can't be that different, though, right?

That's just what we need, another pile of softcore garbage. Ten to one the movie will be even closer to the book than the last one since Mr. Leonard will probably agree to put in everything his wife wants.

I don't paint my nails too often, mainly because it starts chipping off a day or two after I've done it. I use several coats of topcoat and it still happens. It drives me nuts!
