Every time I think the human race has reached the limits of ignorance and stupidity, something happens to push that limit up a few more degrees. What is wrong with Kevin and Jade that they think defending this book, or whatever they're trying to do, is a good idea? I'm not a "woman of color", or whatever half-assed phrasing they're using, but I'm offended at this story's existence because it spits on the graves of everyone who've given their lives to ensure everyone is treated fairly, no matter what their skin color is. I'm not talking about the BDSM, that I can live with, but the fact it romanticizes the "relationship" between Jefferson and Sally, when in fact it was nothing but a show of power by a man who felt said woman was nothing but his property. Just because it was considered okay at the time, doesn't mean it can be considered okay now. We know better, but it's obvious they don't. As for Kevin's claim that all of us have been brainwashed, I'd say it's a case of the snail calling the turtle slow, and that he's been manipulated to think whatever miss Fionna Free Man wants him to think. Namely that her book is nothing but innocent fun, when in fact it's just adding to an already massive stain on American history.

I'm still underage, blowpop, so no alcohol for me. And there's more than one Nightmare on Elm Street? How many movies can they make about a guy that kills people in their dreams? Speaking of which, I hear that and all I can think of is that Pokémon that eats dreams. Also that one scene where a kid gets sucked into his bed.
I have a huge problem with most movies these days, there only seem to be three or four types; superhero, remakes, book adaptations and 'soulful' or something. I'll admit I'm being hypocritical on this point; I really want at least one of my stories on the big screen.

I've actually gotten in a little argument with a youtube user recently, because I commented on a Child's Play review. They said because I found the original Halloween boring, I must only like stupid "horror" films like that Paranormal Activity and Saw crap. I prefer older ones myself, like The Pit and the Pendulum, The Red Death and Exorcist, though I'll admit I found that one kinda boring too. I guess I just don't scare easily. :/

I don't remember ever hearing that, but I haven't been in the UK since I was about four. :/

Moreish? Is that really a word or just some stupid thing my generation came up with? -_-

Robin Hood is one of my favorite stories. =D I think I have two or three books and at least three different movies about him.

Omg, I love How to Train your Dragon! =D I haven't really heard of the other two you mentioned, though.
My favorite actors have to be Robert Downey Jr., Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp. I call them my "big trio".

One of my favorite movies is Who Framed Roger Rabbit and one of my favorite scenes is the one where Dr. Doom first tries to Dip Roger. Eddie pulls a Bugs Bunny when he gets Roger to drink, resulting in one of the craziest moments of the film.
What about you guys? What scenes, or films, do you like the best?

I'm not sure if this counts as a meme, but it's completely true.

The movie's down to 24% on RT with 155 rotten reviews. Let's hope the first number keeps dropping and the second one keeps rising. And I'm starting to wonder what the film could've been if EL had kept her hooked nose out of it. Guess now we'll never know. :/

Adding another post here. Anyone have any words they can't stand hearing? One of my biggest ones is 'novel'. I don't know why, but it just sounds gross to me.

I've seen glass ketchup bottles once in a while and the only way I was able to get some out was by shaking them. :/

Ugh, I can't tell you how much that annoys me. I'm starting to think they should just have separate staircases for slow and fast people, like lanes on the highway. Not that anyone really respects those, either. :/

I've been working my way through The Egyptian the last couple months. I don't have any real criticism, except that it feels excessively wordy. It kind of takes away from the story and makes the book border on boring. I actually put it down for a couple weeks last month because of that.
3/5/15 edit: I recently found out some of the book was actually cut when it was translated, meaning the already 500 page book is even longer if you get it in Finnish. At least, I think that's the language it was originally published in; I'm going solely by the author's name on this one. :/

I just fancied starting a thread about the things that really, really wind us up but seem to petty to make a big thing of. I'll start. It really annoys me when people say "marshmellow" instead of "marshmallow." It also annoys me when people walk too slowly in front of me in shops. And when the skin on a banana is too soft to peel properly, so it just bends and refuses to break. Enter your pathetic rage-makers here... "It also annoys me when people walk too slowly in front of me in shops." That gets me no matter where I am. I walk pretty fast naturally and it drives me nuts when I have to practically stop because the people in front of/around me apparently have snails for feet. Also when groups stop and talk in the middle of the sidewalk or in an aisle or hall of some sort. Seriously, if you have to do that, at least move closer to a wall or something so the people trying to get somewhere don't have to potentially endanger themselves to get around you.
